Avon Anew Clean New Product Review
Not too long along, I posted my review for the Avon Anew Vitale Gel Cleanser. Like many, I am resistant to change so when I found out that Avon would be discontinuing their current Anew cleansers (Vitale, Reversalist, Platinum and Ultimate) and Avon Elements cleansers, I was devastated. I thought not only about my customers that loved them, but also, myself! Selfish? I know but when you have sensitive skin and you find something that works for you, it's hard to give it up. Just like any hoarder, I planned to stock up on my favorite cleanser. In the middle of the night, I realized, I needed to let go of my stubbornness. So I took advantage of the opportunity to try all of the products before they were officially released in Campaign 15.
My biggest concern was the cleanser so I reluctantly opened the Anew Clean Purifying Gel Cleanser. I smelled it at first. To my surprise, it was nothing like I expected! I thought that it would have a floral/rosy scent like the Vitale but it didn't! That instantly dropped my guard but then I thought about the first time I tried Vitale and had slight irritation. I feared breaking out but at this point, it was too late to turn back. I had already bought the bundle. Unlike the Vitale, it's not clear but it's white. I noticed that it lathered better than the Vitale. It wasn't sudsy but I could tell that every inch of my skin was covered. In my opinion, it actually cleaned better than the Vitale but now it was down to the final determining factor --- how would be skin react? I waited. I waited. And I waited some more. Nothing! No irritation! No burning sensation! No wiggling nose! Absolutely nothing! That's it, just a clean face! I am officially sold!
Of course, I felt very daring at this point so I figured --- "try the toner." Disclaimer: I've never tried toner before. I sniffed. Sniffed hard. Sniffed some more. I thought it would smell like alcohol for reason but it didn't. It didn't smell like anything. Almost like water. I put a few drops on a pad and rubbed all over my face and neck. It felt slightly refreshing but that's just about it. I think I'd have to try more before determining if this is a hit or miss.
The day after, I decided to try the Anew Clean Facial Cleansing Wipes before bed. I didn't have anything on but facial moisturizer. It felt very moisturizing, refreshing at the same time, and slightly cooler than my favorite, Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex. Still at that point, nothing to write home to mom about. I had to really put them to test to determine if they can take the place of my makeup remover wipes. Avon states they can get rid of stubborn makeup but I don't think they'll be replacing the existing wipes avaiable. I just don't feel the need to have two separate types of wipes. I decided to do a full-face makeup (primer, foundation, eye shadow, thick eyeliner, mascara, the whole grocery store!) To my surprise, I was able to get it all off with one wipe. Granted, my eyes were still a little dark from the heavy liner and mascara but the second wipe got it right off. In my opinion, it did a slightly better job than the makeup remover wipes because it was more moist. The makeup remover wipes, though great, dry out quicker. Neither wipes irritate my skin whatsoever so big plus there. I'm not completely sold on the Anew Clean wipes but it's only because I already have wipes that work fine and are less expensive.
I tried the Micellar Cleaning Water today and just like the rest of the line, it had a refreshing feeling. I'm going to try it later on tonight when I take my makeup off and update this review.
On to what the customers say:
My customer loves the Reversalist Foam Cleanser so I decided to let her try the Anew Clean Illuminating Rich Cleansing Foam. She was head over heels in love with the Reversalist; however, from her experience, she feels the Anew Clean makes her skin tighter. She is officially sold.
I have another customer that loves the Avon Elements Refining Scrub and Mask so I let her try the Anew Clean Refining Daily Scrub. She'll give me an update on Monday to tell me how she likes it but I'm sure she'll love it. If you've ever loved any of the Anew or Elements cleansers, you are going to love the Anew Clean line. It's suitable for every skin type and if you aren't keen to fragrances, it's especially for you!
