Avon Review and Tutorial: Perfect Eyebrows for less than $8
Unfortunately, I suffer from a bad waxing. About 14 years ago, I had my eyebrows waxed at a nail salon. The wax was too hot and as a result, my eyebrows don't grow in completely. My left eyebrow is the worst! I used to have full eyebrows but now after several bad shops, my eyebrows just won't cooperate. Depending on how the employee feels, they're either too short or too thin. One even erased the arch I worked so hard to get! *eye roll* Needless to say, I like filling in my eyebrows. They look much better in photos when they're darker and they really help to frame my face which brings me to my review today: Avon Glimmerstick Brow Definer and Avon Perfect Eyebrow Kit.
I begin by defining my brows with the Glimmerstick Brow Definer in Dark Brown. I really like how easily it glides and in the case that I mess up, I can easily correct it with my finger. I also love the fact that it is a retractable pencil. I'm usually on the go and have to do my makeup when I get to the location so I don't have time to sharpen a pencil. Plus, it just gets messy! This has definitely become one of my staple products.
The Brow Definer is a little darker than my eyebrows but I like to use the Perfect Eyebrow Kit to fill in. I chose the Eyebrow Kit in Soft Brown to create a more natural look and to wash anyway any harshness left from the Brow Definer. The kit is very compact, which I love; however, if I had one negative thing to say it's about the lack of instructions. The instructions are available online but not on the packaging or product itself. Therefore, if you're not familiar with using this type of product, you'll probably do what I did --- use it incorrectly.
The first step is to apply the setting wax. The setting wax will keep your eyebrows in place. When first using this product, I applied the brow powder and then setting wax so I have brown spots in the setting wax :). I use very light strokes of the brow powder to fill in the shape created by the Brow Definer. It doesn't take much to give me a more natural look. This is also another staple product. I used to use dark brown eye shadow to fill in my eyebrows; however, that eventually faded or ran and it is a little more difficult to create a shape for struggling brows. So for now, these are my favorite products for long lasting, fuller eyebrows!
